Pre Cast Concrete Countertops
One of the preferred ways to fabricate concrete countertops is the pre-cast method. Pre-casting means the concrete countertop is made at the contractors shop then transported and installed at the customer's place. This process may take one week to several weeks depending on curing time needed, finishing, etc.
Pre-casting concrete countertops offer many advantages, for example:
- Controlled Environment: By fabricating the countertop at the contractor's shop many variables are eliminated. All the tools and molds are in place and there is no need to carry heavy equipment around.
- Pre-casting allows the artisan to be more creative in regards to the finishing, many items may be added during fabrication including colored aggregate, glass beads, metal etc.
- Shape: Pre-casting concrete countertops give the contractor time and space to create the most intricate shapes.
- Eliminating onsite dirt and mess: By doing all the work at the shop, the installation at the customer site should be very fast and clean.
Pre-casting concrete countertops give the contractor more options in terms of additives, water content in the mix, coloring and finishing techniques.
