Polyaspartic Concrete Sealer and Coatings
There are some new types of polyurea coating systems which are non-yellowing and with great outdoor weathering performance. The systems, based on reacting aliphatic isocyanates with polyaspartic ester compounds to provide the amine functionality, also have long pot lives, which makes them easier to apply.
And, although more expensive than conventional polyureas, they can often cut the number of coating operations required, thus reducing the costs of this step. Other advantage are quick drying, excellent chemical and traffic resistance, deep wet look, low maintenance, high gloss and ease of application.
Recently, the Ave Maria University in Florida used Polyaspartics to protect over 70,000 square feet of acid stained concrete on classrooms, public areas, hallways and dorms. More
