I am new to this forum.  I have been looking all over the internet for tips on how to stain concrete countertops.  I have been trialing some techniques.  I was told to create a "veined" look to pour the stain out of watering can.  I had the countertop angled so the stain would naturally run, but I was not happy with the finally product.  I also tried to spray the color on the a squirt bottle.  I read a thread with the suggestion of a yarn technique.  Could anyone elaborate on that?  I would really take any advice I can get!!  I would also like an order in which to put on the colors, I have read lighest to darkest and another sourse said the veining color should be placed first and then the other stains "feathered" around it.  Thank you.

Concrete countertops are the

Concrete countertops are the newest trend and their popularity is growing at such a rapid pace due to fact that the countertops are extremely durable, waterproof and stain resistant. The process is not difficult but does take some time and there are some safety concerns. Protective clothing, eyewear and a respirator are always recommended. Clean the countertop with a non-acid detergent. A citrus cleaner works well. If the countertop is new and nothing has been spilled or dropped on it, then brushing it off with a scrub brush should be adequate.
