I'm having a sidewalk installed on a limited budget. It will be stamped with no added dye. I've requested gray Portland Cement and gray release on an Ashlar Slate pattern. The slate has light texture and 1/2" grout lines. Will my end result have much gray? I don't want a dark gray because the house has a light gray granite exterior. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Initially, it will have a considerable amount of gray. However, over the years as it ages it will become more of a tan color. This is because as the paste wears, you will see more of the sand in the mix.
I'm replacing one soon where the contractor added no color but the release agent.

Thanks for your reply. Can I maintain that color using a sealer or something else?

If you keep it well sealed

If you keep it well sealed with a professional grade sealer, it should last a long time. If you let the sealer wear off, it will begin to age as I mentioned.
