Silicon Carbide?
Tue, 2011-09-06 14:08
Hi Folks,
Still working on this "glittery" project. The all-sided mirror chips from ASG aren't cutting it. Has anyone had experience with Silicon Carbide? Seems like that might be the right material...if you know of any places I could buy some, PLEASE let me know! Thanks and hope all are well!
Much appreciated x

I have some knowledge about silicon carbide. It is composed of tetrahedra of carbon and silicon atoms with strong bonds in the crystal lattice. This produces a very hard and strong material. Silicon carbide is not attacked by any acids or alkalis or molten salts up to 800°c.
