i generally dont do a lot of scoring on my stained floors. however i have a customer who wants score cut tiles. Which blade is better, a segmented rim or continuous rim? I use a 7" worm drive skill saw on a blade roller cart.  Ive read where segmented you get more chipping. I am making 1/8' score cuts. I just scored a floor with a segmented blade. Dont know how much better the continuous rim is.  thanks.

I've used both

I've used both, the continuos rim may give you a smoother edge, but the segmented will work just fine. You may get chips with either one, just don't go too fast and try to force the cut, let the blade do the work.

scoring

I have the same setup only dustless. Either 1/8" blade will work fine but I perfer 1/4". The 1/8" after all is done gets ti be more of a dirt catcher unless you grout the score lines.
