With cooler temperatures now beginning to set in around the country, the thought of spending time sitting around a fire becomes very inviting.  There seems to be a growing trend to add these glowing warm pits to outdoor living areas such as patios; I've talked to several contractors that are offering them as an added amenity and focal point, some even fabricating decoraitve concrete benchs to go along with them.  How many of you are doing so?  Would like to see your photos of them.

pit was built from 12" block then overlayed . Several yrs ago I stamped the center portion of this patio ashler slate customer asked me back to enlarge and build the retaining walls and firepit. Newer area is a texture mat finish in walnut I thought extending in ashler slate pattern was not a option as the seam would shout this is a add on so I used the texture in a dark color and used same color on the wall cap. Pit has a concrete floor and a drain above that river biscuit stone with firebrick in center.

Thank you for sharing your firepit images.  These amenities really add more decorative design dimention to the patios, bringing people together around them, as well as adding to the value of the property ...great jobs!  Out of curiousity, where are you located.

Fire pits ... | Decorative Concrete

The popularity of fire pits and the fire effects they produce in the garden is one of fastest growing trends in outdoor design. The allure of sitting around a fire ring has been around since the beginning of mankind. Fire provides warmth, light, a cooking source and, of course relaxation. A dancing flame has a mesmerizing affect that encourages you to unwind and settle in. The popularity of fire pits, or conversation pits as they are commonly called, has grown rapidly in recent years. Proper design and construction will ensure a safe and enjoyable feature that will last several decades.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on fire pits with our members ... however, the link "patio heater" below does not show fire pits (it shows manufactured patio heaters (not even in the same family as fire pits).  Terms of use on our DCF site clearly state "no advertising or other self-promotional materials by manufacturers, supplliers, or their agents."  We have a dedicated DCF "Market Place" segment, nominal charge of $75.00 a month (on a month to month basis) ... scan down the forum listing catagories page to see the Market Palce advertising/promotional and classified venue area.

Please edit your post "removing the link to Patio Heater" below it.  Failure to do so will result in you post being deleted.

Editing last post Link

Thanks Linda for the message. It was a human error ... instead of putting the link www.firepitsite.com, I paste the above link. Nonetheless I have realised my mistake and am willing to fix it.

Could you tell a step by step process on how to edit the post / link.

Tried doing it, but was unable to do so.

Regards.

Mark
