Can overlay color be changed?
We just completed a new pool and decking. The concrete overlay color was applied today and it the wrong color. We wanted a brown/taupe but ended up with a brown with yellow undertones. It looks terrible and does not match our travertine coping and stone porch. What options do we have? Can the color be changed?
Our pool deck is an important part of our back yard and of the usability for our pool. I think the best idea is to use a stamped overlay to combine different styles. Working in brick and stone designs together can offer an amazing style for your deck. You will also find that stenciling can offer benefits here, as well.
There are many other pool interior finishes and a wide range of color option available. Many pool environments are created to blend in with nature, while others require a bolder more contemporary or modern feel.

There are many things that affect color and color matching is very difficult to achieve with overlays, as far as can the color be changed? Yes, it can be changed and there are many ways of doing it.
I am not sure I understanfd your statement, "The concrete overlay color was applied today" it sounds like they put an overlay down then color was added? if so then you just need to add the right color over it the same way.
If the color was in the overlay then you will need to use some type of stain on top of what you have. If you had a contractor do the work, consult with him, he should know how to proceed.
